WHITE, Alberta M.
age 87 of Horseheads, NY. She was born November 29, 1930 in Wysox, PA, daughter of the late Glenn and Bessie (Fenner) Jackson and passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, James; sister Barbara Loomis and brother Howard Salsman. She is survived by her children Karen (Jim) Carpenter, Shirley (Bob) Opalka, Toni White, Cindy (Mitch) Baker and Candis Chambers; grandchildren Christopher (Karyn) Ripley, Corey (Missy) Ripley, David (Nora) Ripley, Jr., Melissa (Randy) Parker, Jim (Jessica) Carpenter, Melanie (John) Hill, Kerrie Riker, Stephanie (Jason) Reynolds, Patrick (Megan) Baker, Ranae Monroe and Toby (Jackie) Baker; 27 great grandchildren; 5 great, great grandchildren; brother Alfred (Betty) Jackson along with several nieces and nephews. Alberta retired from the Arnot Ogden Medical Center and was a member of the Sullivanville United Methodist Church. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Tuesday, January 2nd from 11 am to 12 noon. Her memorial service will be held at 12 noon. Committal prayers and interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember Alberta through donation to the Falck Cancer Center, 600 Roe Ave., Elmira, NY 14901.
