Annabelle Harvard

Obituary of Annabelle Harvard

HARVARD, Annabelle (nee Smith) Age 75 of Elmira, NY passed away Friday, June 19, 2015. Born of Gough, Ga to Floyd Doyle and Amanda Smith Porter, she learned at a very early age to work hard and to be fearless. Her skills as a gardener, seamstress and baker made her a very valuable asset to her family and friends. But none of those skills exceeded her love of the Lord. Her desire to help others and to show kindness will be her everlasting legacy to her family and the world. She is predeceased by her parents; son Bernard Harvard; brothers Willie and Andrew Doyle, MacArthur Abrams, John Henry Porter and Robert Smith; sisters Fannie M. Lockhart all of Georgia, Nancy Glenn and Emma P. Young of Florida; special friends Mattie Bell McGee and Lula McInnis. She is survived by her daughters Alvetta Harvard (grandson Malik) of Elmira, Cynthia (Victor) Tolo (granddaughter Lauren) of Nanuet, NY and grandson Gabriel Harvard of Portland, OR; special niece Lillie (Herbert) Ellison (great nephew Brian) of Elmira; brothers Otis, Joseph, Robert, Jonas, Alonzo and Arthur Doyle; sister Mamie Doyle all of Georgia. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, friends, cousins and Cornerstone SDA family. Special thanks to Drs. Burke and Schiavone, Debbie W. and the staff of 5A at St. Joseph's Hospital. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Wednesday, June 24th from 4 to 6 pm. Her funeral and committal services will follow at 6 pm. Interment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Flowers are graciously declined.
