Obituary of Jacqueline D Carter

CARTER, Jacqueline D. "Jackie" Age 49 of Elmira. Jackie passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Jackie was born on April 23, 1966 in Geneva, NY, daughter of Genetta Carter of Elmira and James (Ann) Carter of Ithaca, NY. She was a devoted and caring mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her children; Sheika Carter, Shanora (Marquis) Carter, and Anthony Roberson Jr.; dear friend, Anthony Roberson Sr. of Elmira; sisters, Debbie of Jacksonville, FL, Cathy, Regina, Bridgett (Reginald); brother, James Thomas, all of Lakeland, FL, along with several grandchildren, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and a special friend, Donald Smith of VA. Jackie was employed for several years at Motel 6 and was a former member of Queen City Temple #146 IBPOE of West Elmira. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Twin Tiers Region Affiliate, P.O. Box 1306, Elmira, NY 14902. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake Street at Washington Ave., on Friday, July 17th from 11 am to 12 pm. A celebration of Jackie's life will be held at 12 pm. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
