Obituary of Mary R. Lauretta

LAURETTA, Mary R. (DiStefano) Age 92 of Horseheads, NY. She was born November 23, 1923 in Italy, daughter of the late Nicola and Maria Rosa (Spallone) DiStefano and passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016 surrounded by her family. In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her devoted husband, Stephen, in 2000, her brothers, Anthony and John DiStefano, along with her loyal friend Jean Wojtyna. She is survived by her daughters: Marisa (Steven) Psaila of Fairport, Donna (Michael Smith) Lauretta of Penfield, and Stephanie (David) Fiorini of Horseheads; dear grandchildren, Griffin, Summer, Dominick, and Gianni; sister, Carmela Culver of Gillett, PA; special godson, Dominic Scaringe of New Mexico as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and formerly employed by Moore Business Forms. She is remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Friday, January 29th from 5 to 7 pm. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter and Paul Church, 161 High Street, Elmira, on Saturday, January 30th at 10 am. Private committal prayers and interment will be in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Aleksander Rupik and the caring staff at Bethany Manor.
