Obituary of Anthony J. DiPetta

DiPETTA, Anthony J. Age 57 of Elmira, NY. He was born October 26, 1958 in Elmira, son of the late Anthony M. and Angeline (Punzo) DiPetta and passed away Monday, April 18, 2016 very unexpectedly. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Michael. Anthony is survived by his wife of 31 years, Mitzi (Frawley); daughters Kristin and Emily (Jordan Calzaretta), granddaughter Alexia and her father Jorell Cook; siblings Martin and Susan DiPetta of Pine City, Mary Margaret and John Pariso of Elmira and Kristine Lackey of Elmira; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law Bobbie and Bill Conz of Horseheads, Ed Frawley of Elmira and Mike Frawley of Saratoga Springs along with several very special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins including Bob Monitello of Kirkland, OH and his special canine buddy, Leo. Anthony graduated from EFA and Alfred State. He retired from Hardinge after 32 years of service; was a communicant of St. Mary's Church; member of the Hardinge Men's Club and former coach for his daughters with Elmira Cinderella Softball. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son and friend, always there for anyone, anytime. He will be missed by all. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Thursday, April 21st from 4 to 7 pm. Prayers will be offered there on Friday, April 22nd at 9:15 am, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Mary's Church. Committal prayers and interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
