Obituary of Jerusha E. Whitty

WHITTY, Jerusha E. Age 83 of Elmira, NY. She was born February 3, 1933 in St. Augustine, FL, daughter of the late Isaac "Ike" and Sally (Hunter) Baker and went home to be with her Lord on Friday, June 17, 2016. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Earl Sr; daughter Barbara; son Isaac "Ike" , brothers James Gaethers and Oscar Baker, sister Sally Morgan. She is survived by her children Deborah of Syracuse, Earl (Denise), Carl, Michael and Stephanie all of Elmira; daughter-in-law Sharon of Elmira; sister Betty Williams of New Smyrna Beach, FL; 11 grandchildren including special granddaughter Barbara Whitty; 16 great grandchildren along with a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Whitty was a member of St. Paul's Missionary Baptist Church. She retired from Elmira Psychiatric Center. Family and friends are invited to visit St. Paul's Missionary Baptist Church, 402 Sullivan St., Elmira on Friday, June 24th from 11 am to 12 noon. Her funeral service will begin at 12 noon. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Walter J. Kent Funeral Home is assisting the family.
