Obituary of Marcellino VanCise, Sr.

VanCise, Marcellino Andrel Sr. "Smoke" Marcellino passed away on June 17, 2016. From the very beginning Marcellino was misunderstood but very loved. He had a big heart. He loved to bring joy to ones that held his heart by his love for cutting hair. He enjoyed fishing with his close family and friends. He expressed himself through his art. He loved his children with everything in him. Many times he didn't know how to express himself so he turned to music. Music allowed him to be free. And today we can say he is dancing to his music, smiling down on our unity and love. He leaves behind celebrating his life, his mother Pamela VanCise (deceased Jimmy) siblings; Angelique VanCise (David), Miguel VanCise (Amber), Mathew VanCise; father, Dennis Fernandez; siblings Jailyn Baker (Joseph), Norma Molina, Dennis Fernandez Jr., Benjamin Fernandez, Richard Fernandez; children Mariah VanCise, Miara VanCise, Marcellino VanCise, Jr., Mariano VanCise, Marciano VanCise, Milania VanCise and unborn son; his longtime girlfriend Karen Call; aunts and uncle; Paula Groom, Nelson Pacheco Jr., Saturina Pacheco, Benjamin G.; with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great-aunts; childhood friend Dwayne Banks; and grandfather, Nelson Pacheco. He is predeceased by his grandmother Donna Groom, cousin Martino Cesarini, great-aunt Jacqueline Groom and uncle Douglas VanCise. Marcellino will be greatly missed. Family and friends are invited to visit Shabach Tabernacle, 1133 Lake St. Elmira on Friday, June 24th from 3-5 pm. His funeral service will follow at 5pm.
