Obituary of Catherine E. Murphy

Catherine E. Murphy age 91 went to be with the Lord on July 2, 2016. She was born July 17, 1924 in San Francisco, California. She was the daughter of John and Edith Murphy. Catherine was predeceased by her son Gerald Gibson in 2006 and daughter in law Sharon {Arnold} Gibson in 1989. Also an infant great grandson James E Decker the third. Catherine is survived by her son Burt and Pat Gibson of Elmira and grandson Charlie, Grandchildren Rachel and Jimmy Decker and Great Grandson Dakota of Candor, John Gibson and great grandson Kyle of Salem NJ, Jennifer and Lee Morris great grandchildren Larry, Emily, and Luke of Burdett. Also wonderful friends Yvonne Sadler, Karen and Jimmy Osborne and Bonnie and Roy Mathews. Catherine was an avid reader of mystery books and she loved her clothes magazines. She also enjoyed designing special occasion cards for people. Catherine was a member of The Horseheads First Baptist Church. A special Thank You goes out to the nurses at Maple Creek Meadows at Elcore nursing home Kaitlin, Nicole, Tosha, Arica, head nurse Margaret, Bobbie Jo and staff you all are wonderful people. Per families request there will be no funeral services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Maple Creek Meadows at Elcore Nursing Home.
