Obituary of Charles D. Brown

BROWN, Charles D. age 74 of Elmira, NY passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016. Charlie loved the carnival life, enjoying traveling from town to town, meeting new people and catching up with old friends. He traveled in the summertime for over 30 years with his best friend Frank Benza. Those two were more than friends, they were brothers. Charlie was a loving and caring man. He had the biggest heart and would help anyone. Charlie enjoyed sitting at home with his door open and all his neighbors coming over to stop by and talk to him. They were all very special to him. Charlie enjoyed cookouts with the family and watching all the great grandchildren run around and enjoying themselves. His family meant everything to him. Charlie was predeceased by his mother Mary Brown, father Charlie Brown, sister Pattie Owens, brothers-in-law Joe Madalena and Larry Dunn, as well as mother-in-law Jessie Seymour. He is survived by his wife Pat Brown; daughter Kelly Williams; son-in-law Tony Williams; grandchildren Gregory Brown, Collin Brown, Sherry (Latney) Egen, Jessie (Sophie) Williams and Tony Williams, Jr; great grandchildren RJ, Kristena, Jordyn, Kayden and Rylee; sisters Linda Madalena and Ginny (Phil) Burnett; brother Billy Brown; sisters-in-law Kathy Dunn-Steenberge and Midge Dunn-Corradini (Jeff); nieces and nephews Jeff (Julie) Elwood, Bethann (Pat) Beckwith, Trisha (Rae Ann) Elwood, Keith (Pam) Latshaw, Chrissy Brown, Rita Brown, Jonathan (Amber) Brown, Debbie Allen, Steve Burnett, Larry Owens, Vickie Owens, Ronald (Karen) Madalena; great nieces and nephews Jenna Elwood, Sarah Beckwith, JJ Beckwith, Kendall Elwood, Abby Latshaw , Lincoln Latshaw, Ronnie Madalena, Jr, Anthony Madalena and Vincent Madalena. A special few people he loved as if they were his family, Heather Scholl and Brittany Austin. You were like a daughter and granddaughter to him. A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced.
