Obituary of John A. Kerbein

KERBEIN, John A. Age 83 of Elmira, NY. He was born March 25, 1933 in Elmira, son of the late Franz and Martha (Eissermann) Kerbein and passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Corning Hospital. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law Hedwig and Boyd Belknap, brothers and sister-in-law Arthur and Judy Kerbein, Alfred Kerbein and James Kerbein, brother-in-law Paul Blanc. John is survived by his wife of 30 years Pauline; children and their spouses Lori Kerbein of Elmira Heights, Lisa and Barry Dever of NC, Todd and Tricia Kerbein of Horseheads, Tina and Kevin Morrison of Elmira; stepchildren and their spouses Linda and Dave Corkins of Elmira, Scott and Sherry MacKeil of FL; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister Augusta Blanc of ID; brother and sister-in-law Frank and Jean Kerbein of Elmira Heights; sisters-in-law Theresa Kerbein of Elmira and Patricia Kerbein of Millerton, PA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary & Don Smith of FL; along with several nieces and nephews. John retired from American Tobacco Company in New York City. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during Korea and was a member of the American Legion Post 154, Elmira Heights. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Friday, October 21st from 4 to 7 pm. His funeral and committal services will follow at 7 pm. Interment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
