Obituary of Willie E Wells

WELLS, Willie E. age 94 of Elmira, NY. He was born March 22, 1922 in Irwinton, GA, son of the late Lawyer and Eugenia (Milline) Wells and passed away Monday, November 21, 2016 at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was predeceased by his sisters Mathe Baker, Della Thomas and Mary Higdon; brother Felton A. Wells, Sr. and stepson Donald Black. He is survived by his wife Catherine; children Betty Jean Wells, Willie James Wells, Katie Mae Johnson, Robert Wells, Clifton Wells, Fred Lee Wells and Dollie Ann Brown; stepchildren Anthony (Tonya) Williams, Debra (Sullivan) Nelson and Edwin (Stephanie) Geter; sister Ella Mae Ashley along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mr. Wells was a member and Deacon of St. Paul's Missionary Baptist Church. He retired from St. Joseph's Hospital after many years of service. Family and friends are invited to visit St. Paul's Missionary Baptist Church, 402 Sullivan St., Elmira on Tuesday, November 29th from 11 am to 12 noon. His funeral service will be held at 12 noon. Rev. Johnny Vaughn will officiate. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
