Obituary of Sandra L. Sullivan

SULLIVAN, Sandra Lloyd age 78 of Horseheads, NY passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Elcor Health Services. Sandi was born May 9, 1938 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late William and Katherine (Mospan) Lloyd. She was also predeceased by her husband Thomas A. Sullivan and step daughter Eileen Sullivan. She is survived by her brother and best friend Robert Lloyd of Horseheads, NY. She is also survived by her sister Shirley (Jack, deceased) Herron of Summerville, SC with son Michael (Heidi) with children Kailey Ann(deceased), Alex and Stephen of Summerville, SC; step children Maureen (Paul) Recklau with daughter Jean of Woodbridge, VA and Kathy Sullivan of Sayre, PA. Sandi is also survived by her "special" cousin Ann Marie Deegan of Elmira, NY; aunt Mary Solometo of Horseheads, NY. Sandi was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Parish. She retired from Kennedy Valve after 46 years of serviced. She then volunteered for eight years in the office at the LPGA Corning Classic and was named Volunteer of the Year in 2005. She really liked playing golf at the Mark Twain Golf Course (was a member for over 40 years) and enjoyed doing various "jobs" for the women's league. Also the last few years, Sandi volunteered in the office of the Arctic League and in the miniature golf booth at Eldridge Park. It was Sandi's request that there be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 21st at 10 am at Ss. Peter & Paul Church. Mrs. Sullivan will be buried in St. Peter & Paul cemetery next to her husband, Thomas, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember Sandi through donations to the Southern Tier Food Bank, 388 Upper Oakwood Ave., Elmira, NY 14903.
