Obituary of Charles H. Noto

NOTO, Charles H. age 74 of Elmira, NY. He was born July 13, 1942 in Elmira, son of the late James and Ella Mae (Kellogg) Noto, and passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 at the VA Medical Center, Bath, NY. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda (Johnson) Noto; children Timothy (Annette) Noto, Anthony (Bridgette Lurz) Noto and Vicki (Jason) Sheridan; grandchildren Breeanna, Giovanni, Alex, Martin, Willow, Meadow and Lily all of FL; brothers and sisters-in-law Jake and Faye Noto of Horseheads, John and Sue Noto of Elmira; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Jean McDonnell of Elmira, Jacqueline and Bill Kiser of Elmira, Dianne Johnson of Horseheads; dear friends Frank and Linda Derr of Elmira, Shirley Kiefer of Horseheads, Ray and JoAnn Gleason of Horseheads, Betty and Ritchie Scuteri of Watkins Glen along with several nieces and nephews. Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving from 1959 to 1963. He retired from the Elmira City Fire Dept. in 2001 after 34 years and was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, #801, Elmira. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Saturday, January 21st from 2 to 4 pm. His funeral service will follow at 4 pm. Committal prayers and Inurnment, with military honors, will take place in Woodlawn National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember Charles through donations to the Vietnam Veterans of America, #801, 1200 Davis St., Elmira, NY 14901
