Obituary of Charles J. Wilson

WILSON, CHARLES J. Age 85 passed restfully on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, after a brief & sudden illness. Born in Alto, Texas June 22, 1931, son of the late Arnimus P. and Edith H. Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Clifton Wilson and is survived by his wife, Nancy (Patykula )Wilson; daughter Kelly and Jack Jordaan; son John & Donna Patykula; daughter-in-law Betsy Wilson; grandchildren, Michael & Julie Spoth, Jessica and Tara Patykula, Krista & Dylan Monroe, Meghan Jaskolka, Nathan & Andrew Wilson; brother Ben Wilson & sister Billie J. Roeder along with several nieces. As a man of integrity, he grew up in Highlands, Texas, joined the Navy in 1948 & served aboard the US Prairie for 3 ½ years touring the Philippine Islands, Korea, China & Japan. He also worked at General Motors & CH Heist as a project estimator. Retired for over 20 years, he loved hobbies of all sorts, hunting, gardening, stained glass & plane model building & was also an avid NASCAR and football fan. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Friday, March 31st from 5 to 7 pm. His funeral and committal services will follow at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Cancer Research Foundation in his name.
