Obituary of Charlotte M. Parmenter

PARMENTER, Charlotte "Shari" "Nana" Age 70 of Elmira, NY passed away peacefully on September 18th, surrounded by her loving husband, brothers and sisters, son and granddaughter. Shari was born in Montour Falls, NY on October 16, 1946, the daughter of Charles and Jean Drake. Shari graduated from Watkins Glen High School and went to work for Ward LaFrance. She retired from Chemung County Government after 25 years of dedicated service, making life-long friends. Shari was predeceased by her parents Jean and Charles Drake; her sister Paula Drake; and brothers-in-law Allan Waite and Chuck Richardson. She is survived by her husband, Charles "Chuck" Parmenter, whom she loved with all her heart; her step-children; Perry (Sue) Parmenter, Rob Parmenter, and Mary (Scott) Karius; two grandchildren, Adrianne Parmenter and Joey Parmenter; her granddog Benji; her sisters, Sylvia Waite and Linda Richardson (Dave Costley); her brothers, Ernest (Josanne) Drake and Charles (Deborah) Drake; her special niece, Darlene Richardson and many other nieces and nephews; along with some very special friends, Nancy Butler, Joe & Janette Capece, and Mary Ellen Benedict. Shari will forever be remembered as a classy woman who was devoted to her husband, her family and friends and being a "Nana"; a woman who never failed to remind her grandchildren every day that she "Loved them, more." Family and friends are invited to a celebration of her life at 1 pm on Tuesday, September 26th at the Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira, NY. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Woodlawn National Cemetery.
