SPAIN, Michael J.

age 65 of Campville, NY. He was born August 11, 1952 in Elmira, NY, the son of John and Mary Ann (Cherkis) Spain and passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 24, 2017. He was predeceased by his father John and brother-in-law Gregory Olsen. Michael is survived by his wife of 30 years, Susan Hyde; mother Mary Ann Spain of Elmira Heights, NY; sister Susan Olsen of Pine City, NY; stepdaughter Mercy (Terry McHugh and their son Collin all of Chandler, AZ. Michael was an auto mechanic "extraordinaire" for 38 years and a wizard with all things mechanical and electrical. Michael and his wife owned Glendale Wine & Spirits in Endicott, NY. In 2014 he went into semiretirement enjoying gardening, home projects, canning and making sauerkraut. He had a love for Jazz; a dry wit and was a devoted pet parent. Family and friends are invited to his memorial service on Wednesday, November 29th at 3 pm at Walter J.
