Obituary of James J. Noto

NOTO, James J. "Jake", "Butchie" Age 79 of Big Flats, NY. He was born October 19, 1938 in Dunkirk, NY, son of the late James F. and Ella Mae (Kellogg) Noto and passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, December 17, 2017 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Charles H. Noto. Jake is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara "Faye" (Jones) Noto; sons James S. Noto of Gibsonton, FL and Joseph A. Noto of Lindley, NY; grandchildren Nikki (Shawn) Reed, Crystal Noto, Joseph J. Noto and Michael A. Noto; great grandchildren Riley, Owen and Alex Reed, Raegan, Ariyanna, Michael and Jazzmine Noto; brother John (Sue) Noto; sisters-in-law Linda Noto and Patti Ojason; aunt Lenora Zacharius and cousins; family friend Josie Leone both of Fredonia, NY. Jake was a veteran of the Marine Corp serving from 1959 to 1962. He retired from Mark/Trece, Inc. after 30 years both in Elmira and Maryland and after that he worked for Glove House for 5 years. He loved his family, baseball, football, hunting and bird watching. Family and friends are invited to his memorial service on Friday, December 29th at 1 pm at Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira. Committal prayers and military honors will follow in Woodlawn National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember Jake through donations to the Chemung County SPCA, 3524 State Rt. 352, Elmira, NY 14903 or the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
