Obituary of Pauline J. Brown
BROWN, Pauline Jennie (Davis)
Age 94 of Elmira, NY. She was born November 6, 1926 in Richmond Hill, GA, daughter of the late Dan Daniel and Versailles (Hughes) Davis and passed away Monday, January 25, 2021 at home. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands Enoch Clark, Sr. and Rufus Brown, Sr; daughter Joyce Brown; daughter-in-law Geraldine Clark; siblings Paul A. Davis, Thomas Davis, Sr., Gladys (Davis) Shellman, Cleopatra Davis, Lilian (Davis) James, Joseph, Lorraine (Davis) Clark. Pauline leaves to cherish her memory; two sons Enoch Clark, Jr. of Elmira and Rufus Brown of Florida; daughters Judy Brown (Calvin) Flint of Phenix, AL, Marnita Brown and Paula Brown both of Elmira, Diane Brown of Savannah, GA; stepdaughter Annie Pearl Johnson of S. Carolina; her loving 20 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 16 great, great grandchildren; 2 great, great, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; several special friends; Shirley Ashford, Claire Fullwood, Mary Heard, Joan Beal and Rev. Johnny Vaughn. Pauline was an active member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. She was also a devoted singer in the Senior Choir. She also was a member of the Queen City Temple #146. In her earlier years, she worked various jobs; school bus driver, Elmira College and a short order cook. Her passion was fishing, gardening and feeding anyone that was hungry, but mostly spending quality time with her family and friends. Family and friends are invited to visit St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 402 Sullivan St., Elmira on Wednesday, February3rd from 11 am to 1 pm. Her funeral service will be held at 1 pm. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. COVID-19 protocols will be strictly enforced.
