Obituary of Mary Virginia Pabis

PABIS, Mary Virginia Age 82 of Elmira, NY. She was born January 27, 1939 in Elmira, NY daughter of the late William and Virginia (Santone) Riley and passed away Monday, June 28, 2021 at Bampa's House, Corning, NY. She was predeceased by her husband William M. Pabis on March 1, 2019 and is survived by her children Michael (Dawn Palmatier) Pabis of Elmira Heights, Robert J. (Beth Ruocco) Pabis of Elmira and Lisa (Shawn) Cobb of Elmira; grandchildren Justin, Melinda, RJ and Ryan Pabis, Blake and Riley Cobb; great grandchildren Imari, Gia and Avery; brother and sister-in-law William and Romola Riley of CT; nieces and nephew Debbie Gibilaro, Suzanne Powell and Christopher Riley; dear friends Maryann Guinta, Rita Kujawski, Anna Drake and Rena Morroni. Virginia was employed with Hess and Bon-Ton Department stores and Morroni's Green House. She was a communicant of the Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish attending St. Anthony's Church and then St. Patrick's Church. Family and friends are invited to visit St. Patrick's Church, 604 Park Pl., Elmira on Tuesday, July 27th from 11 am to 12 noon. Her Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12 noon. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Woodlawn National Cemetery. Her family thanks the staff at Bampa's House for the wonderful care they provided her. In lieu of flowers her family requests memorial donations to Bampa's House, 170 E. First St., Corning, NY 14830.
