Obituary of Jackaleen C. Rhinevault
Jackaleen C. Rhinevault
Age 78 of Horseheads, NY formerly of Florida. She was born November 6, 1942 in San Diego, CA, daughter of the late Clair Rhinevault and Heelan (Haus) Rhinevault and passed away Friday, August 20, 2021 at home after a short illness.
She is survived by her sister Paulette Tuck; brother Paul Vasilchik; nephew Barrett Vasilchik; niece Kathryn Tuck; and cousins J. Wyatt and Mayhew Tuck Phipps. She was predeceased by her niece Teresa J. Seigle, grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.
As an infant she came from San Diego to New York until after World War II when her mother married her stepfather Paul Vasilchik and moved to Detroit. After the passing of her stepfather, she moved back to Endicott, NY with her mother and brother, where she helped raise him. Born with Cerebral Palsy, she made a decision to go out on a limb and live by herself in Tampa, FL where she lived for 37 years before coming back to NY.
Jackie was very involved in her community. She loved decorating the church, recreation and VA hall. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Sun City Center, FL where she helped with children's activities. She played organ and wrote gospel music. She took time to go on cruises and shopping. She had her own Raggedy Ann doll business. She loved ringing the bell at Christmas time, painting, dancing, entertaining with the lip sync programs that raised money for donations to children, food kitchens and shelters. Jackie enjoyed taking some of her older friends on her golf cart to activities. Her close friends were Marie, Julie, May, Linda, Tom and many more living at King's Point.
Jackie also leaves behind a special aunt Eleanor who was always there when needed and was her caregiver throughout the years; and cousins Sheila, Sharon, Sue, Scotty, Stewart and Steven. Jackie was very thankful for having God in her life to look over her and for helping her to be able to live independently and for having wonderful caring friends and cousins. She will be greatly missed.
Family and friends are invited to visit Monumental Baptist Church, 1009 Maple Ave., Elmira on Thursday, Aug 26th from 11 am to 12 noon. Her Memorial Service will begin there at noon. Jackie will be laid to rest with her mother and stepfather in Tioga Cemetery, Owego at the convenience of the family.
