Obituary of Stella Michalko

MICHALKO, Stella Age 91 of Elmira, NY. She was born March 9, 1930 in Wiconisco, PA, daughter of the late Paul and Anna (Fetko) Sovich and passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021 peacefully. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Nicholas in 1986 and 8 siblings. Stella is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Nicholas & Joyce of Elmira Heights, Michael & Kristine of Canandaigua, NY and Anthony & Sherry of Horseheads; daughter Cindy of Canandaigua, NY; grandchildren Elizabeth (Michael) Lutomski, Brianna (Scott) Davenport, Aaron (Hannah), Michael, Matthew (Madison) and Stacy Michalko; great grandchildren Gabriel and Eliza; sisters Susan Pinkerton of Palmyra, PA and Katherine Craig of Loyalton, PA; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Joe & Alyce Michalko of Elmira and Beverly Michalko of Horseheads along with several nieces and nephews. Stella was a member of Holy Trinity Orthodox Christian Church. She retired from Anchor Glass after 35 years of service. Family and friends are invited to visit Holy Trinity Orthodox Christian Church, 140 Horseheads Blvd., Elmira Heights on Thursday, December 9th from 4 to 7 pm. Panykhyda will be held at 7 pm. Her funeral service will be held there on Friday, December 10th at 10 am. Rev. Fr. David Cowen will officiate. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Holy Trinity Orthodox Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember Stella through donations to Holy Trinity Orthodox Christian Church, 140 Horseheads Blvd., Elmira Heights, NY 14903. Masks will be requires for all services.
