Obituary of Larry King FitzPatrick

Larry King FitzPatrick Age 88 Born February 5, 1937 in Elmira, NY, passed away on March 23, 2025 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA after a long illness. King is survived by his loving family, Teresa DiSanto FitzPatrick his wife of 65 years, son Edward, daughter Terri (Mike Battisti), son Thomas (Kelly Cusick), grandson Christopher (Danielle) Weaver, great-grandsons Lucas and Samuel Weaver, and grand-doggies Wilma and Betty all of Big Flats, NY. He was predeceased by his parents Helen and Theodore FitzPatrick, his brother Eddie, and many relatives and friends. King was a 1955 graduate of Southside High school, where he was a standout athlete and attended Ithaca College. Upon returning to Elmira, he worked in the automotive department at Sears and Roebuck. After a short time, he applied for a position with Allstate Insurance where he worked for over 40 years. He loved hunting and fishing and was long time member of both the Lakewood Sportsman's Club (Jolly Boys) and Tower Hill Hunting Camp. He was a member of Hope Springs Eternal Investment Club. He met many of his friends at these clubs. In retirement he spent several winters in New Smyrna Beach, and also enjoyed regular trips to Tioga Downs with his wife and friends. He was an avid golfer and as he did with his own kids, he enjoyed watching Luke and Sam play in various sports. Thanks to the staff at Bethany Manor for providing care and support over the last several months. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Bethany Manor first floor or the Chemung County S.P.C.A. Family and friends are invited to St. Mary Our Mother Church, 816 W. Broad St., Horseheads, NY on Thursday, March 27th from 8:30 to 9:45 am. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am. Rev. Christopher Linsler, Celebrant. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.
