Obituary of James R. Mosher

James R. Mosher Of Elmira, NY went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. He was born August 6, 1947 in Elmira, the son of the late Earl and Amey (Raub) Mosher. His loving wife of 46 years, Barbara T. (Tucker) Mosher, whom he married October 26, 1974 at the Centenary United Methodist Church preceded him in death December 3, 2020. His sisters, Rebecca Jane and Mary Amey also predeceased him. Survivors that are left to cherish his memory are his beloved children and their spouses: Lynn and Jason Hendershot of Philadelphia, PA; Gary and Nicole Mosher, Brian and Amber Mosher and Kimberly and Josh Jones all of Elmira, NY; adored grandchildren: Mackenzie Mosher, Christopher Hendershot, Alexander Mosher, Matthew Hendershot, Jordan Mosher, Joshua Jones, Lilly Jones, Lynsey Hendershot and Madison Mosher; brothers; Thomas Mosher of Bethlehem, PA; William (Patricia) Mosher of Horseheads, NY; brother-in-law, Gary Tucker of Elmira, NY; along with several nieces, nephews, friends and his church family. Mr. Mosher was a faithful Lay Pastor and member at the North Presbyterian Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. He was formerly employed by the Chemung County Transit System, Robinson Lumber, Friendly's and most recently Cracker Barrel. James loved the outdoors, watching and feeding birds; enjoyed his flower garden as well. Above all he loved being with his family and supporting all the events his kids and grandkids were involved in. A Funeral Service to honor James's life and faith will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, at the North Presbyterian Church 921 College Avenue Elmira, NY at 5:00 pm. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Pastor Evan Hansen will officiate. Mr. Mosher will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 10:00 am. Pastor Hansen will offer the committal prayers and blessing. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in James's name may be directed to the North Presbyterian Church Food Pantry 921 College Avenue Elmira, NY 14901.
