Donna L. Wood, 86, of Horseheads, NY, passed away peacefully after a long illness on June 21, 2025.

Born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Donna was known for her strength, loyalty, and quiet determination. She spent her life devoted to her family, building a home filled with love, laughter, and the comforting scent of baked goods and fresh-cut flowers from her garden. She was married for 70 years to her beloved husband, Robert Wood, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and enduring love. Together, they raised four children: Tim, Nancy, Doug, and Mark. Donna was a proud and loving grandmother to Bill (Robyn) and Brian Benjamin, Emily, Nick, Tyler, and Abby Wood, Miranda Husband-Wood, and Jennifer Kershner. She was also a great-grandmother to Frankie, Olivia, Weston, and Wyatt Benjamin. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—tending to her garden, carefully decorating the Christmas tree each year, and listening to the music of Alan Jackson. A gifted seamstress, Donna expressed love through her hands—sewing with care, crafting with creativity, and always finding beauty in the details. She is survived by her children, Doug (Misty) Wood of Horseheads, NY, Mark (Kim) Husband-Wood of Chesapeake, VA, Nancy (Mike) Benjamin of Lowman, NY, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews including Cheryl (Joe) Miller, whose care and support of Donna is greatly appreciated; as well as many dear friends and extended family. Donna was preceded in death by her siblings Chuck, Maryann, and Nancy, as well as her son Tim and granddaughter Samantha. Donna leaves behind a legacy of quiet resilience, unwavering devotion, and a family deeply rooted in her love. She will be remembered for the way she made every holiday feel like home, for her gentle presence, and for the strength she showed in both life's joys and sorrows. Family and friends are invited to visit the Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., in Elmira, NY on Tuesday, June 24th, 2025 from 2 pm to 3 pm.
