Obituary of Mary Ann Daugherty

Age 73 of Elmira, NY was born July 16, 1951 in Minnesota, the daughter of the late Charles and Wilma (Ames) Tischer, passed away after a brief illness at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. Her sister, Charlene Saunders and son, Patrick Daugherty Sr. also preceded her in death. Survivors left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 55 years, Andrew G. Daugherty Sr.; beloved children, Charles (Tanda) Daugherty of Elmira, NY; Andrew Daugherty of New York; Amy Daugherty of Elmira, NY; adored grandchildren, Britoni Daugherty, Joel Daugherty, Brianna Daugherty; Travis Pratt; Cody Wood, Nathan Wood, Patrick Daugherty Jr.; Meta Daugherty, Xavier Daugherty; granddaughter-in-law, Kelsey Wood; sisters, Lavonne (Howard) Spencer and Donna Tischer; daughter-in-law, Melissa Wood; former daughter-in-law, Chrystal Wheeler; sister-in-law, Mary June Daugherty; brother-in-law, Sonny (Joann) Daugherty; nephews, Addison Spencer, Jesse Saunders, Nicholas Tarby and Thomas Rumpff; nieces, Tina, Kristie, Jennifer Lynn and Justine; along with other relatives and many friends. Mary Ann retired from Elcor Health Services in Horseheads after 19 years of dedicated service as a nurse's aide. She loved gardening and her flower beds; and especially loved bird feeding and watching. Most of all she loved spending time with her kids, grandkids and drinking her Dunkin Donut coffee every morning with her beloved Andrew. A memorial service to celebrate Mary Ann's life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 1:00 pm at 708 Benton Place where family and friends are invited to share their memories and honor Mary Ann.
