Obituary of Bonnie Rogers

Age 79, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 21st at Elderwood of Waverly, with her loving daughter by her side. Bonnie was predeceased by her parents, Gilbert & Erma (Stahle) Hill; siblings, Robert Hill and Elwood Hill; sister, Irene Hill; son, Philip Rogers. Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Tina Allington; sister, Greta Eldridge; brother, Gary (Judy) Hill; grandchildren & great grandchildren, Scott Allington, Lliam, Landin, & Charity; Megan, Danny, Carter, Cannon and Christian Wright; Philip "PJ" Rogers & Felicity; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bonnie worked at Founders Pavilion in Corning, NY where she found joy as the residents personal laundry lady. She enjoyed the work and made many friends over the years. Bonnie was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother who took pride in spending time with her family. She enjoyed hosting family dinners where she cooked her famous Spanish rice. Bonnie loved going for long car rides and traveling to the beach. She was a true wiz when it came to reading a map. She loved the summer time and spending time outdoors. Bonnie loved to give out birthday cards and was a friend to many. She had a great love for her siblings and enjoyed having picnics with them and playing cards or Yahtzee. Bonnie always found the joy in giving the perfect gift for her grandkids on Christmas and she loved to decorate the tree. Each year she gave a special ornament to each person that became a family tradition. Bonnie was kind and enjoyed the simple things in life. Her grandkids were her life and she made every effort to be a part of their everyday lives. She was present at every birthday party, sport event & always had a big grandma hug waiting for them. Bonnie will be missed dearly, but her memory will live on in the lives of all those she touched. On behalf of her family, our sincerest gratitude to the staff at Elderwood for providing a loving and safe environment for her during the last few years of her life. Family and friends are invited to attend Graveside Services on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at the Woodlawn Cemetery 1200 Walnut Street Elmira at 11:00 am.
