We regret to announce the passing of Floyd G. Smith. 74 of Elmira. NY. He passed away peacefully at home in Elizabeth City, NC on August 6, 2025. He was born in Elmira, NY on October 21, 1950. He worked at American LaFrance, AFI, and Shepard Niles in NY before retiring at Pestar in NC. He loved coaching soccer and playing softball. He also loved the Chicago Bears. He is survived by his wife Jean of 40 years, his brother John Smith (Vicki), his sons Floyd Smith (Stephanie), Daryl Smith (Kristina), Bambi Duane Griffin, daughter Tina Ksionzyk and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Floyd Smith Sr and Victoria McConnell. Also, his sisters Coraleen Brown and Coni Hill, daughter Jenna Griffin, nephew Tyrone Smith and granddaughter Sierra Smith. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 27th from 2 to 5 pm at the B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge 62, 300 E. Gray St., Elmira. All are welcome.
