John E. Chamberlin
Age 81, of Horseheads, NY was born March 8, 1944 in Elmira, the son of the late Julian and Virginia (Calhoun) Chamberlin. John went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, August 14, 2025 peacefully at his home with his family at his side. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara E. Chamberlin. Survivors left to cherish his memory are his sons: Jayson (C J) Chamberlin of Alpine, NY; Shawn Chamberlin of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren: Joseph and Abby and Trent Johnson; sister: Cindy (Bill) Butcher of Bowling Green, FL; niece: Shannon Spencer; nephew: Kevin Rockwell. John was a faithful member of The Bridge Wesleyan Church in Big Flats. He was a Veteran of the United States Army proudly serving his country from 1966 to 1972 during the Viet Nam War. John received the following medals while serving his country: National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal W 2 LP, Arm Commendation Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal 2 OS Cars, Sharpshooter M-16 and Expert M-14. Family and friends are invited to visit The Bridge Wesleyan Church 561 Maple Street Big Flats, NY 14814 on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm for his visitation. John's Memorial Service will begin at 1 pm. Pastor Alex Ruffer will officiate. Interment will follow in the Bath National Cemetery San Juan Ave. Bath, NY 14810 where Military Honors will be accorded to Mr. Chamberlin. Pastor Ruffer will offer the graveside committal prayers. John will be missed but never forgotten.
