Joesph Lee Britt

Age 70, of Elmira, NY was born February 28th 1955, in Mims, Florida. He was born to late J. C. Britt and Essie Mae (World). Joe passed away Friday, August 29, 2025 at home surrounded by his loved ones. Joe is survived by his wife, Lynette (Boles) Britt of 47 years: his children, Sharmane Britt (Tasha), Tyrone Boles Britt and Jayce Zuris all of Elmira. Left to honor his memory, brother, Ulyesses Harris (deceased), Alfred Britt( Buffalo); sisters, Emma Hall (Elmira), Cathrine Britt (deceased), Margaret Jean Britt (Titusville), Theresa Williams, Hattie Mae Britt and Cynthia Britt all residing in Daytona Beach, Florida; sisters-in-law, Wanda Ruth (deceased), and Amanda Ruth of Elmira; also left to honor his memory are his grandchildren, Janae Jenkins, Shamal Gladden, Jawanaza Wims, Aubrey-Faye and Ausha Jolynn Jenkins. Tyrell, Brianna, Aaliyah, Tyrone, Tamya, Tysere (decreased), Tyanna, Tyasia, Tyron, Tylynn, and Nataliana Boles all of Elmira; great grandchildren, Kariana and Rammorah Boles, and Tyriah Zuris. He also leaves behind nieces, Qua Mack, Titia Geter, and Qi Jones all of Elmira; Shermane, Renae, Sheratha Britt residing in Florida; nephews, John Britt (Florida) and James Hall (Elmira), and host of nieces and nephews. Joe's favorite girl, "His Girl Friday" Elease Garvin. Joe retired from working for Tommy Hilfiger at the outlet store and as care taker of the Strathmont Mansion. Joe continued to do landscaping, painting homes inside and out, and was also a custodian supervisor. Joe loved, fishing, cookouts and music. Joe was a member of the COGIC (Church of God in Christ). Joe loved his family and friends, and worshiping the lord. Joe was known as "Tokyo" to his friends. His family says, "Tokyo" you will always be in our hearts forever and ever we love you always!
