Ivan D. Jacobus
Age 76 of Corning, NY, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 after an extended illness. He was born on September 22, 1949 in Corning, NY. He is predeceased by his mother, Eloise (VanKurin) Jacobus, his brother Steven Jacobus and sister, Ellen Ann Parmalee. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Halina (Owdienko) Jacobus; children Michael (LaRain) Jacobus of Tiffin, OH, Anne-Marie Jacobus and Ivy Jacobus both of Corning; grandchildren Xzorian, Phelan, and Rainier; brothers John Henry (Wanda) Jacobus of Corning, Walter (Barbara) Jacobus of Grassy Creek, NC and David Jacobus of Corning along with various nieces and nephews. Ivan retired from Pepsi Bottling Group of Horseheads, NY where he worked while he devoted his free time to his true passions: his archery shop that celebrated thirty years before he was forced to retire and sharing his collection of local arrowheads and his knowledge of the local Iroquois history with schools, museums and scholars through lectures and his yearly booth at the Newtown Battle Reenactment at the Newtown Battlefield State Park in Lowman, NY. Family and friends are invited to his Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 15th from 2 to 5 pm at Ill Eagle Taphouse, 200 E. Church St., Elmira
