Stephen C. Chait

Age 78 of Chemung, NY. He was born June 25, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY son of the late Louis and Phyllis (Iscovici) Chait and passed away Saturday, October 18, 2025 after an extended illness. Stephen is survived by his loving and caring DDSO and Pathways families. Stephen was the first resident and patriarch of the Chemung I.R.A. residence. He loved music. "Happy Birthday", "Old MacDonald" and "Goodnight Irene" were his favorite songs, which he sang often. He loved to dance; loved sweets. He was stylish and loved his fashion accessories. Stephen had an infectious smile and a mischievous smirk. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Thursday, October 23rd from 11 am to 1 pm. A graveside service will follow in Chemung Cemetery.
