Obituary of William H. Burns IV

William H. Burns IV, known to many as Billy, passed away on November 13, 2025, in Elmira, New York. He was 75 years old. Born on January 10, 1950, in Elmira, New York, Billy remained closely connected to his hometown throughout his life. Early in his career, he served briefly in the United States Army, a chapter that reflected his commitment and sense of duty. Billy is lovingly remembered by his son Kyle Burns; grandchildren Devon, Zoe (Dylan), and Brody; and many great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his siblings Anthony (Vevelyn) Burns, Naomi (Keith) Carroll, Jeanmarie Burns, Roberta(Curtis) Grant, and Betsy (John) Burns. His extended family includes numerous nieces, nephews and cousin as well as many special friends who held him dear. He was predeceased by his parents, William H. Burns III and Mable Burns, and by his nephew Keith Carroll Jr. The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Arnot Ogden Medical Center, The Faulk Cancer Center, and Bampa's House for their compassionate care during Billy's final days.
