Brenda was deeply loved. Ever since I became a young mother to her grandchildren, Je'Von and Jemari, she has been nothing but supportive in my journey. Through many joys and hard times, she was there with her firm, yet loving motherly advice. She and Ms. Inell Thomas have watched both me and my children grow, as they were part of the strong village that helped me raise them. She took care of them while I worked and went to school to advance my career as a nurse. I have spent countless hours at her home doing homework, family gatherings, or just talking, sitting on the porch, napping or watching TV. She opened her heart and her home to me, making it like my second home. She was sometimes fiesty, but she was also hilarious. I would jokingly tell my kids, "Don't make me go Brenda on you!" Anytime I saw her, I was met with a warm embrace. Brenda showed strength and resilience throughout her health issues, which made her the example of a great patient. She knew what she wanted and always advocated for herself, even until the end, where she found her peace at home. She will be profoundly missed. Heaven has got the best fighter in its corner now. I love you always, Brenda.
