It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brenda Gail Coley Thomas, who departed this life on Tuesday, November 25 at the age of 69. Brenda was born on September 27, 1956, in Cochran, Georgia, and throughout her life, she touched the hearts of many with their kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit.

A Life Well Lived

Brenda was beloved by family, friends, and colleagues alike. She had a tremendous love of cooking and sharing wonderful meals with her family was her love language. With an infectious laugh and compassionate nature, she was always willing to lend a helping hand and offer words of advice and encouragement, Brenda dedicated 20+ years to Phillips Lighting as an Auditor.

Family and Legacy

Brenda is survived by her mother, Inell Thomas, sons, Tory, Jeremy & Jason Thomas, sister, Patricia (Julius) Clark of Elmira, NY, brother, Christopher Jerome Thomas of Elmira, NY, sisters, Cynthia Coley-Stokes and Rose Coley-Brown of Patterson, NJ, brothers, James R. Coley & Jerome Coley of Patterson NJ, 9 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, who will continue to honor her memory and carry forward the lessons and love she bestowed upon them. Brenda was preceded in death by her father, James Coley, sister, Linda Faye Lewis, brother, Ronnie Coley and daughter, Patricia Lynell Thomas.

Celebration of Life

A service to celebrate Brenda's life will be held on Friday, December 5 at 12:00p, at Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St., Elmira, NY 14901, to be followed by burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Final Farewell

Brenda will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, kindness, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
