Frederick W. "Fred" Beard, Jr.

Age 55 of Elmira, NY. He was born December 31, 1969 in Elmira, NY the son of Frederick W. Beard, Sr. (predeceased March 30, 2013) and Kathleen (Crain) Beard. He passed away Monday, December 29, 2025 at home from a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Anita (Montgomery) Beard; children Jessica “Jess” Hootman, Andrew “Drew” Hootman, Frederick “Freddie” W. Beard III (Christina Cruz), Eric (Amanda) Beard, Ambur Beard, grandchildren Dominick “Dom” (Tanna) Hootman, Cameron “Cam” Hootman, Joseph “Joey” Bixby III, Angelina “Angie” Bixby, Frederick “Lil man” W. Beard IV, Jah’Vonte Stevens, Kaleigh Smith and Kay’son Beard, along with his great grandchildren Raphael Long, Aumauria Long, Kion Long, Nymeria Hootman and Dallas Hootman; brothers Robert “Bob” (Shana “Shay”) Probst and James Probst as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Frederick worked as a roofer for E. Beard Roofing of Elmira and Wenzel’s Contracting of Elmira Heights and was considered a “jack of all trades”. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. For those who know this “FTB”, “FTW” and “FDT”. See you there at a later time. “The man I was, was the man I was meant to be."
