Louis Earl Johnson, Jr.

Age 76 of Elmira, NY. He was born December 21, 1949 in Elmira, NY, son of the late Louis Earl Johnson, Sr. and Geraldine (Kennedy) Christensen and passed away Saturday, January 17, 2026. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 2 sisters and 1 brother. Louis is survived by his daughter Torre Johnson; grandchildren Connor, Parker and Irelandrose all of Chemung; brother Robert (Diana) Johnson; lifetime partner Wanda Kleinschmidt and her 2 children and 1 granddaughter along with many nieces and nephews including special niece Trisha Ketter. Louis was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from the U.S Postal Service with 38 years of service. He was an Amvet officer and member of the Elmira Heights VFW and a member of the Elmira American Legion. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings football fan and enjoyed golfing. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Saturday, January 24th from 2 to 4 pm. A time of sharing will be held at 4 pm. Interment, with military honors, will take place in Woodlawn National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
