On June 17, 1963, he married the love of his life, Julia Ann Marriott. Together they built a beautiful life and shared 53 wonderful years of marriage until her passing on August 20, 2016. Their love story was one of faithfulness, partnership, and sacrifice — a true example of covenant love.

Milford was one of many siblings and is survived by Frankie, Wilby, Judy, Jean, Kaye, . He was preceded in death by Walt, Eddie, Joyce, Polly, Neva and Bonnie.
Milford began his career as a cook at Molly's Diner in Bath shortly after marrying Julia. To support his growing family, he took a position for 2 years with Polly-O Dairy in Campbell before beginning a 25-year career with Del Buck Construction, where he became known as a master craftsman specializing in swirled ceilings and fine detail work. His reputation for excellence and integrity led him to establish Jackson Construction, which he operated successfully for another 25 years. He retired in 2015 at 72 years young in order to care full-time for his wife during her illness — a role he fulfilled with Honor, love, and complete devotion.
Milford was a Spirit-filled, born-again follower of Jesus Christ. He first attended the Assembly of God Church in Bath, later serving faithfully at Corning Assembly of God where he used his talents to bless the church body and served on the board of directors. After moving to Elmira in 2016, he joined Frontline Family Ministries, serving faithfully alongside his son Randy until stepping down in 2020 following his diagnosis of Alzheimer's and Dementia.
If you knew Milford, you knew his life was simple in its foundation: Love God. Love People.
Every morning began the same way — early at the kitchen table with his Bible open, praying over his family, neighbours, friends, and work. Every evening ended the same way — in prayer and in the Word. His children cannot remember a single day of their lives when they did not see their father devoted to prayer and Scripture. It started his day. It ended his day. It shaped his life.
He loved the outdoors, developing the land where he raised his family, hunting and fishing with his sons, and building memories that would last generations. He was instrumental in helping develop the Lindley-Presho Little League, coaching young players while his wife worked tirelessly to build concessions and raise funds. He loved his small town and community — but above all, he loved teaching his boys how to be men.
He walked carefully.
He led by example.
His word was his bond.
If he agreed to something, it was done.
Milford was generous, gentle, honest, hardworking, and steadfast. He lived what it truly means to be a husband, father, Christian, and follower of Christ.
One of his most cherished life principles was this:
"Son, at the end of the day, the only thing that will matter is that we loved God and loved people. No amount of money or things you obtain in this world will matter. Tell as many people as you can about Jesus. Remember — God, Family, and Country. That's what matters."
Because one man chose to bring Jesus into the Jackson family, generations now follow Christ. Many are in heaven because of his obedience. His life will echo through second, third, and future generations.
There will be no public funeral service at this time. Per Milford's request, a private family service will be held in April, where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Julia, and his son, Michael David.
His family finds peace knowing that Heaven gained a faithful servant.
Dad, your life showed us what love looks like.
We are proud to be your children.
You will be greatly missed, but your legacy will carry us forward. Rest in peace, Dad. We love you.
