Age 66, of Elmira, NY was born May 8, 1959 in Newport News, VA the son of the late Dawson and Betty Jean (Corral) Dixon Sr. He passed away peacefully yet unexpectedly on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at his home. His son, Brian Dixon, brothers, Steven Dixon and Dawson Dixon Jr.; and canine comapnion and friend, "Brenna" also preceded him in death. On July 3, 1988, Ricky married Sandra (Garobucci); they have enjoyed 37 years of life and love together. Other survivors left to cherish his memory are his brothers, David Dixon of Kentucky; Terry (Kathy) Dixon of Virginia; step-children, Lori (Ken) Jones and David (Krista) Kibbe; loving grandchildren, Staci, Rebecca, Jacob and Lindsay; adored great granddaughter, Eleanor; along with his nephew, Jason (Brandi) Dixon and other nieces, nephews and many friends. Ricky was a Veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country from 1977 to 1983. For several years, Ricky was a custodian for the Elmira City School District. While residing in Seattle, Washington, he was employed by Unisource for 20 years. He loved camping and traveling in his motor home. Ricky loved all sports, but was especially fond of his favorite NFL football team, the Dallas Cowboys. Family and friends are invited to attend Graveside Services on Friday, March 20, 2026 at the Woodlawn National Cemetery 1825 Davis Street Elmira at 3:00 pm. Lay Pastor John P. Knapp will officiate. The Chemung County Veterans Honor Guard will accord Mr. Dixon with Military Honors. The Walter J. Kent Funeral Home is assisting the Dixon family.
