Jeffrey L. Yackel

Age 71 of Elmira, NY. He was born July 15, 1954 in Geneva, NY, son of the late William and Gloria (Ayers) Yackel and passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Patricia Ugolev. Jeff is survived by his wife Doreen (Merrill) Yackel; children Brad (Rebecca) Yackel of Horseheads, Alan (Jennifer) Yackel of Elmira, Katie (Cody) Callear of Elmira, Jennifer Spencer of Elmira and Richmond (Samantha) Cole of Lanoaka Harbor, NJ; grandchildren Mason, Allie and Corbin Yackel, Braedyn, Brielle, Bradley and Beaudyn Yackel, Layla Callear, Tyler, Matthew, Zaccariah and Michaela Spencer, Kaileb, Arianna, Jameson and Luca Cole; brothers William (Amy) Yackel of Beaver Dams and Larry (Helen) Yackel of Palcitas, NM along with several nieces and nephews. Jeff retired from Sysco Foods and MTM Realty in Horseheads. After he retired, he worked for Auto Zone. He was an avid NASCAR fan, loved Harleys, old hotrod pick up trucks and tractors. He also loved cats. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Friday, May1st from 4 to 6 pm. His funeral and committal services will follow at 6 pm. Rev. Frank Wasielewski will officiate.
