David Eichenauer

Age 79 of Elmira, NY passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026 unexpectedly. He was born April 10, 1947 in Liberty, NY to Harry and Lillian (Mauer) Eichenauer. David graduated from Liberty Central High School and Sullivan County Community College, and what is now Utica University.

David had various jobs in the Binghamton and Elmira areas working with and for persons with disabilities. David's favorite ones were working at Binghamton University, AIM and the Finger Lakes DDSO.

David was predeceased by his parents; wife Susan Kendall Eichenhauer and her parents Addison and Susan (Henry) Kendall; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Art and Sondy Kendall and brother-in-law Gary Erickson.

Survivors include his sister Susan Morrow with her husband David and children Lindsay and Pat and grandson Owen; sister-in-law Carol Erickson; nephew Kary Erickson and wife Karen and sons Daniel, Andrew and Josh; nephew Mark Erickson and wife Sherry with sons Jeff and Greg and daughter Jennifer and stepdaughter Brittney; special niece Lee Saginario; niece Kelly (Don) Lawrence; nephew Arthur (Margaret) Kendall and son Hudson.

Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Friday, May 15th from 11am to 12 noon. His funeral service will begin at 12 noon. Rev. Adam Hungerford will officiate. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Rural Home Cemetery.
