Dejaiffe, Lynn (a.k.a. Naomi Mae Moore Osburn)
Lynn was born in Cortland, New York, January 2, 1937, and is predeceased by her parents Naomi and James Moore of Auburn, New York. She is also predeceased by Robert, her husband of 35 years and siblings: Patricia Jo Moore (Cortland, NY), Marylou Coffin (Charlotte NC), Julie Constance Pacilli Riddlesworth (Ellington CT) Darlene McKeen (Sevierville, TN) and Rosemary DeChick (Auburn NY).
Lynn was employed as the Technical Writer for the state of Washington Department of Ecology Nuclear Waste Program in Kennewick, Washington. She retired in September 2004 and for the next four years she and her husband, Robert, toured over sixty national parks in their RV. In 2008, they returned to their point of origin, New York State, and settled in the village of Horseheads. Lynn is an author and wrote under the pen name of Jennifer Layne. Her first novel, Trial and Triumph was published in 1985. Several of her articles, poetry and short stories have been published in popular media.
The Nuclear Waste Program operating within the Washington State Department of Ecology was created to deal specifically with cleanup of the Hanford Nuclear Waste Reservation in Hanford, Washington, and is owned and operated by the United States Department of Energy. Lynn was the Technical Writer for the public involvement team of the Nuclear Waste Program. In that capacity she was responsible for scientific and technical research, and for developing public outreach materials that explained technical issues in clear concise language. Additionally, she edited and composed materials prepared for publication or presentation to ensure conformity with agency policies and procedures. She coordinated outreach efforts with the United States Department of Energy, the United States Environmental Protection Agency, The United States Department of Health and other organizations. During her tenure with the Nuclear Waste Program she received two monetary awards for excellence in the workplace.
Renowned as a consumer advocate for the disabled, Lynn gave presentations to state and federal government committees and was nominated for the prestigious Gold Star Award for exemplary community service. She was the recipient of the Key Humanitarian Award given annually by the organization Open Doors for the Handicapped. Lynn was named in the International Who's Who in 2001 citing her commitment to community.
As a young mother, Lynn was very active as both a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader; she worked tirelessly with various PTA groups for the betterment of education for all children.

Grandchildren: Timothy Dorshimer, Kristy Taft, Nicole Sellers, Chelsea Gajewski, Kaitlyn Fedor, Kourtney Fedor, Aaron Vanderhoff, Jay Vanderhoff, Virginia Wolfe, Allison Osburn, Edward Osburn IV, Casey Osburn.
Great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews too numerous to mention.
