Evelyn M. Phenes

Age 71, was born April 27, 1955 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Robert and Opal (Holmes) Barnes Mochrie. Evelyn went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 after fighting a courageous battle with her family by her side. Her parents, Robert and Opal; brothers, Raymond Barnes and Edward G. Mochrie; step son, John Bow Williamson; mother-in-law, Katherine Williamson preceded her in death. Evelyn is survived by her loving companion of 23 years, John Williamson; sons: Michael (Lauri) Kimbell Jr.; Earl James Phenes; Luke Phenes Sr.; siblings: sister-in-law Debbie Mochrie; James (Tanya) Barnes; along with several grandchildren, other relatives, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Evelyn wishes to express her sincere gratitude, compassion and appreciation to the following people: Dr. Roberto Mauri, Stephanie Bush and the entire staff; step daughters, Tayna (Les) Shaffer; Karen VanNess (Randy), Kimberly Williamson, special grandsons, Luke Jr. and Lane Phenes for the outstanding love and care they unselfishly gave to her.

Family and friends are invited to Evelyn's graveside service on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 11 am in Rural Home Cemetery, Big Flats, NY. Lay Pastor John P. Knapp will officiate. A Celebration of Life for Evelyn will take place on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at the home of Tayna and Les Shaffer,11 Heath Road Waverly, NY 14892 from 2 to 4 pm. Walter J. Kent Funeral Home is assisting the Phenes family.
