Obituary of Wasyl Salyga

SALYGA, Wasyl, Jr. age 68 of Elmira, NY. He was born June 8, 1949 in Germany, son of the late Wasyl and Katherine (Howricko) Salyga, Sr. and passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 unexpectedly at home. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Stephen Salyga, Sr. Wasyl is survived by his sister Stefka Sherman of Elmira; niece and nephews Tonya Fleming of Waverly, Stephen Salyga, Jr. and Kyle Salyga both of Elmira; grandson Zachary Salyga; great nieces Aaliyah Salyga; great nephew Eric Smith all of Elmira. Wasyl was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church. He retired from Hardinge, Inc. and was an active member of the Ukrainian Club. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Wednesaday, October 11th from 4 to 7 pm. Panykhyda will be held at 7 pm. Interment will take place in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
