Obituary of Edward J. Phillips

PHILLIPS, Edward J. age 75 of Painted Post, NY, formerly of Elmira. He was born July 2, 1942 in Elmira, son of the late David and Natalina (Santucci) Phillips and passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Corning Hospital after an extended illness. He was predeceased by his brothers Duane and David Phillips. Ed is survived by his wife Sheila; children Tammy and John Garvin of Elmira, Nicol Osborne and Daniel Mattison of Elmira, Joshua Phillips and Sara Roberts of Corning, Dean and Kristina Phillips of OK; stepson Mervin and Teresa Ribble of Painted Post; grandchildren Emersyn, Evan, Makayla, Tatayana, Darius, Sam, Gage, Chloe, Payton, Cheyenne and Wyatt; siblings Dan and Pam Phillips of Pine City, Mike and Dorothy Phillips of Horseheads, Ted and Patty Phillips of Syracuse, Dolores Phillips of Mahopac, NY, Eleanor Phillips of Elmira, Tom and Lisa Phillips of Watkins Glen, Rose and Michael Wojtyna of Elmira. Ed was a long time employee of Thatcher Glass and retired from the Livingston Correctional Facility. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Wednesday, December 6th from 11 am to 1 pm. His funeral service will be held at 1 pm. Rev. Robert Stewart will officiate. Committal prayers, military honors and interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
