Obituary of Stephen D. Johnson

Stephen Douglass Johnson Age 70, died Thursday, January 4th, 2018 at Chemung County Nursing Facility after an extended illness. He was predeceased by his father, Theodore "Shorty" Johnson, and is survived by his mother, Lucy F. Brown, his sister Beverly (Charles) Hampton, his brother Darryl (Rhona) Johnson, his beloved daughter, Stephanie Johnson and granddaughter Syona Maria Sanchez, stepsons Mike and Chris Hanson, Ms. Patricia Hanson and his companion Mary Jane Allan all of Elmira as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Stephen was a well-known musician throughout the Southern Tier. He played with local bands such as the Upsetters, Crosswinds and the Holmes Family. Stephen was an active member of Faith Temple Community Church. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 13th at Faith Temple Community Church, 722 Standish Street, Elmira; Visitation at 11, Service at noon.
