Obituary of Nancy A. Barclay
Nancy A. Bolger Barclay of Elmira, NY formerly of Olean, NY passed away peacefully on January 13, 2018 at Arnot-Ogden Medical Center in Elmira surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born on Sept. 10, 1955, she was the daughter of Edward J. and Rita M. (Chappell) Bolger. At the young age of 7, her mother passed away and she and her sister were raised by their grandparents, Lawrence "Red" and Frances Chappell of Olean. Nancy was a 1973 graduate of Olean High School. She then attended Arnot-Ogden School of Nursing graduating with an RN degree in 1976. She worked as a supervisor for the Elmira Psychiatric Center and later as a private duty nurse. She was an adventurous soul and one that had a big heart. She enjoyed shopping, yard sales, and camping trips and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. Nancy loved animals, especially her German Shephard Boomer. She is survived by her fiancé Gary Griffin, sons LaRon and Marcus Barclay, grandson LaRon Barclay, Jr. all of Elmira. A sister and brother-in-law Deborah (Hank) Post of Olean, NY, nephews Michael Post of Nokesville, VA and Matthew Post, of Rochester, NY. An uncle, Thomas Bolger of Cragsmoor, NY. Special friends Jessica Cranmer and Becky Bradley of Elmira, and her four best friends from nursing school Betty Foreman, Betsy Hilfiger, Laurie Giglio and life-long friend Nancy Skrobacz-Flynn.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents and grandparents. Services and interment will be private.
