Johnnie Bell Watkins
Also known as “Slim”, “Sang”, age 71 of Elmira, NY was born on January 20, 1947 in Dublin, GA. Johnnie went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 13, 2018.
Johnnie was predeceased by his parents Lewis and Julia Mae Watkins along with 2 brothers, 4 sisters and 2 grandbabies (Tanya Octavia Blair)
Johnnie retired from Dalrymple Construction Company after 33+ years of service. Johnnie surely enjoyed his retirement mostly by fishing with his grandson Kai and good friend Kevin Blair. His true passion was gardening. Johnnie was a loving and caring man with a humorous mind.
Johnnie is survived by 2 brothers Ulysses (Ruby) Watkins and T-Wesley (Lattice) Watkins; his children Tracy (Tami) Magee, Kuanda (Kevin) Thomas, Chuaron Morgan, Charimone Watkins and Samuel (Brandie) Morgan along with his great nephews AJ Jr. (Treena) Thomas, Alton Thomas and niece Claudia (AJ) Thomas; his special lifetime partner/great friend Esther Blair; 16 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. His family appreciated his dedicated friends Mr. Jim and Kevin Blair.
Graveside service and interment was held on Friday, March 23rd at 2 pm in Woodlawn Cemetery.
