Obituary of Martha J. Thorneley

THORNELEY, Martha Josephine (Wilcox) Age 79 of Elmira, NY. She was born March 12, 1934 in Bradford, PA, daughter of the late Frank and Mickey (Donohue) Wilcox and passed away Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. She was predeceased by her husband John; brother Tom and brother-in-law Mike Fetyko. Martha is survived by her children Tim Thorneley, Joan Burgar, Kathleen (Jeff) O'Leary and Mary (Rob) Fabrizio; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters Mary Fetyko and Joan (Tom) Owens; sister-in-law Ann (Dewey) Marsh along with many loving nieces, nephews and special lifelong friends. She was a long time communicant of Ss. Peter & Paul Church; graduated from St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in 1955 and retired as an RN from St. Joseph's Hospital after many years of service. Due to the observance of Holy Week, family and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, March 27th at 10:30 am in Ss. Peter & Paul Church. Rev. Richard Farrell, Celebrant. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 27th from 4 to 7 pm at Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira. Interment will take place in Woodlawn National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember Martha through donations to Blessed Sacrament Parish, St. Jude's Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
