Obituary of Bernetta Ellis

ELLIS, Bernetta Age 88, passed away on August 9th, 2015 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility in Elmira, NY. She was born in Wyalusing, PA, daughter of the late Esmond and Delphine Johnson. Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years, Howard Ellis. She is survived by two sisters and her seven children; Shirley Andrews, Howard (Virginia) Ellis, Gertrude Tyler, Joyce Nichols, Brenda (Raymond) Decker, Marion Emerson, and Linda (Dillon) Kalkhurst; along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Ellis dedicated her life to her children and family. She worked at Arnot Hospital in Elmira for many years and was a member of the Elmira Moose Club for nearly 36 years. Family and friends are invited to Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake Street at Washington Ave., on Saturday, August 15th from 12 pm to 2 pm. A memorial service celebrating Bernetta's life will follow at 2 pm.
