Obituary of Nathalia E. Snowden

SNOWDEN, Nathalia E. (Davis) " Skip" Age 96 of Elmira, NY. She was born November 26, 1918 in Elmira, NY, daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Jenkins) Davis and passed away peacefully on Monday, November 23, 2015 at Chemung County Nursing Facility. She was predeceased by her loving husband, James K. Snowden Sr., sisters; Theodora Bragg, Annie Clark, Hazel Sampson, Marietta Pannell, Helen Emanuel, brothers; John Robert Davis and Charles "Richie" Davis, Sr. Nathalia is survived by her daughter Elizabeth R. Graham of Elmira, NY and son James K. Snowden Jr. of Illinois, granddaughters; Kelly D. Graham of Florida and Brittanie (Darius) Washington of Illinois, great grandchildren; Malachai Snowden, Darius, Darien and Alicia Washington all of Illinois along with a host of nieces and nephews. Nathalia leaves to mourn her sister Elsie (Howard) Ransey, brother-in-law Eldred Pannell, Sr. and special niece Vera Bragg of Elmira. Nathalia was retired from Elmira City School District. Her greatest joys were her home and spending quality time with her family. Nathalia's family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the entire staff of the 5th floor at Chemung County Nursing Facility for all their compassion, love and care which is "in a class by itself". The family also wishes to thank her roommate Doris Dennison and family for all their love and kindness shown to Nathalia. Family and friends are invited to visit Ss. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, 161 High Street Elmira, on Monday, November 30th, from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in her precious memory at 3:00PM. Private interment will be held. Walter J. Kent Funeral Home is assisting the family.
